Abstract of the workshop:
Closer to oneself
Throughout my MA studies and previous experiences in dance it has become clear to me that what I truly want to do is help people to get closer to themselves through dance, but maybe firstly to get people closer to dance. Many DMT techniques create a soft way to do that and I believe we can call it health promotion. My master’s thesis examined the possibilities of promoting body awareness and subjective well-being of high school youth in the school environment, within the framework of physical education classes. The purpose of my research was to develop a lesson plan based on the techniques of DMT. In this workshop we will dive into different layers of movement and explore these possible ways to use DMT knowledge in prevention and promotion work.
